Data Management
Sometimes data has to go: test data from commissioning a machine, a sensor that logged garbage for a week, tags of a decommissioned line. Data Management deletes datapoints and tags in bulk, in a controlled way.
Data Management is only available for organisation admins.
Deleting data cannot be undone. There is no recycle bin. When in doubt, download the tags first.
Creating a delete job
Filter and select
Select what to delete: filter on tag name and on labels, for example everything with Cell = TestLine. The page shows exactly how many datapoints and how many tags match, before anything happens.
Summary and confirm
Check the numbers. Deleting requires explicit confirmation — and deleting all tags of an organisation requires a separate, extra confirmation.
The deletion runs as a background job. The job list shows the progress (datapoints and tags deleted) — large deletions can take a while.
Just one tag to delete? That can be done directly from the tag page. Data Management is for bulk work.
